Does Online Dating Lead to a Healthy marriage

– Is it true that you can find love through online dating? Does online dating lead to a healthy marriage? Is online dating safe? I answer all the above questions in today’s video and in the videos that I am publishing this week about online dating.

There are numerous studies about online dating and over the last 10 years attitudes about online dating have changed as more and more people see it as a legitimate way to connect and meet a potential life partner.

The fact still remains that the majority of relationships and marriages still originate offline. According to Pew Reseach 5% of Americans who are in a marriage or committed relationship say that they met their significant other online.

So it is possible to have a long lasting relationship with someone you met on an online dating site. The number of people who do in comparison to those who find love through traditional offline methods is very small.

Online Dating Safety Tips:

“Some 30% of U.S. adults who have never been married say they have ever used an online dating site or mobile dating app. But it is not just never-married Millennials who are using online dating: 31% of never-married adults ages 35 and older have used an online dating site or mobile app, similar to the share (29%) of never-married 18- to 34-year-olds who have done so.” – Monica Anderson from ‘The Never-Been Married Are The Biggest Users of Online Dating’

Keep in mind when you are setting up your online dating profile to be as honest and authentic as possible. Don’t mislead people by doing things like posting a picture of what you looked like 10 or 15 years ago, or misrespresenting yourself in other ways.

The more authentic you are when you do make a connection and meet in person, the more chance of success you will have in your offline relationship.
